James Franklin McCall, 81, of Tifton passed away Saturday, November 9, 2002, at Tift Regional Medical Center. His funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 11, 2002, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Calvin Bobo officiating. Mr. McCall was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Mr. McCall's grandchildren served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were the deacons of Eastside Baptist Church in Tifton.
Born August 7, 1921, in Fitzgerald, Mr. McCall was the son of the late Frank McCall and Ula McCall. He retired from the United States Navy, where he served in World War II; and he was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Tifton. He was a longtime resident of Tifton.
Mr. McCall is survived by his wife, Betty Howell McCall of Tifton; one son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Cheryl McCall of Eustis, Florida; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Lisa McCall of Plantation, Florida, Nancy Lee and John Servis of Daytona Beach, Florida, Cindy and Joel Becker of Columbia, South Carolina and Sandra and Jay Lemon of Orlando, Florida; one sister, Fannie Mae Massey of Abilene, Texas; and eight grandchildren.
