Obituary

Cora Lee Hampton Musselwhite, 94, of Alma passed away early Tuesday morning, July 30, 2002, at her residence following an extended illness. Her funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 1, 2002, in the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home in Alma with the Rev. Mark Barth officiating. Mrs. Hampton was laid to rest at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, August 1, 2002, at Oak Ridge Cemetery with the Rev. Eddie Allen officiating.

Jammie Taylor, Derrick Taylor, Glenn Taylor, Vince Tapp, Christopher Moore and Ricky Smith served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were O. J. Booker, Jay Williams, Ernest McCarty and Johnn Waters.

Mrs. Musselwhite was a native of Colquitt County but had lived most of her life in Tifton except for the past fifteen years in Alma. She had been a resident of Twin Oaks Nursing Home in Alma for the past five years. She was the daughter of the late Jonnah Hampton and Adella Kent Hampton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Willie Musselwhite; and two brothers, James Hampton and Don Hampton. She was a seamstress all her working life and had been a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Tifton many years and was currently a member of the Alma Evangelistic Temple.

Mrs. Musselwhite is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Linda Lee and James "Boss" Taylor of Alma; three grandchildren, Teresa Lee Smith of Midway, Vince Tapp of Tifton and Jammie Taylor of Alma; and eight great-grandchildren.
