Alberta Feagin Mallard, 96, of Tifton passed away Sunday, June 16, 2002, at her residence. Her funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2002, at Liberty Baptist Church in Tifton with the Rev. Gerald Purvis and the Rev. Otis Beal officiating. Mrs. Mallard was laid to rest at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Tifton.
Ricky Fletcher, Josh Rousey, Mike Rousey, Stacey Rousey, Rocky Sellers and Charlie Sellers served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were the deacons of Liberty Baptist Church in Tifton.
Born December 14, 1905, in Worth County, Mrs. Mallard was the daughter of the late Warren Feagin and Eliza Jane Johnson Feagin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Harvey Mallard, who passed away in 1979; three sons, Jerry Mallard and twin boys at birth; four brothers; and three sisters. She was a homemaker; and she was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Tifton, where she was the oldest living member. She had lived in Tifton most of her life.
Mrs. Mallard is survived by one son, Jack Mallard of Tifton; two daughters, Clara Tubbs and Bobbie Dean, both of Tifton; nine grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.
