John Robert Dominici, 85 of Abington, MA passed away Thursday July 18, 2024 at Sunrise Assisted Living in Burlington, MA after a long illness.
He was born and raised in Boston, MA on March 21,1939 to the late Giovanni and Rena (Caffanges) Dominici. After graduating high school, John served in the US Army where he was stationed in S. Korea. Upon returning, he studied drafting and maintained a career as a pipe designer working for various companies including Polaroid, Bechtel, and General Dynamics. John enjoyed a lifelong hobby of photography and loved watching Boston sports teams, especially the Patriots.
John raised his three sons, Philip, Michael, and Peter mostly as a single father. Later in life he
would take regular trips to Georgia and Florida to be with his beloved family.
He leaves behind his three sons, his sister Irene Halloran, and seven grandchildren: Philip, Katie, Cara, Nicholas, Max, Malia, and Marisa Rae. He was deeply loved and admired by his family and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to John’s visiting hours Thursday July 25th, from 9:00-11:00am
with funeral service to follow at 11:00 am at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, 666 Plymouth Street
(Route 58 @the rotary) Whitman, MA. Burial will follow at the St James Cemetery followed by a
luncheon celebration at Mia Regazza in Abington.
