Ethel Faye Grimes Monk, 63, of Tifton passed away Friday, May 10, 2002, at her residence. Her funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 13, 2002, at Corinth Freewill Baptist Church in Brookfield with the Rev. Billy Sumner officiating. Mrs. Monk was laid to rest at Ty Ty First Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Monk's family members served as pallbearers.
Born September 28, 1938, in Worth County, Mrs. Monk was the daughter of the late William Morris Grimes and Ethel Elizabeth Conley Grimes. She was also preceded in death by three brother, Morris Grimes, Johnnie Grimes and Saxton Grimes. She had been the office manager at Georgia Vegetable Company for 23 years; and she was a member of Corinth Freewill Baptist Church in Brookfield. She had lived in Tift County most of her life.
Mrs. Monk is survived by her husband, Charlie Monk, Jr. of Tifton; three children and their spouses, Randal Monk and Tammy and Nicholas Gomez, all of Tifton and Ray and Christy Monk of Fitzgerald; one sister, Lola Watson of Tifton; and five grandchildren, Jeremy Hobbs, Kayla Monk, John Roundtree, Heather Roundtree and Joshua Monk.
