Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George Ernest Tarr 82 Friday, July 19, 2024. Born to George Tarr and Cecile Bernard Tarr on August 21, 1941.

George retired from a career as a Foreman in the Plastics Industry in 2002. He cherished his life with his wife Leilla and his family building memories. George found relaxation in gardening with his wife. He loved golfing and fishing with his brother and sons. He found pleasure in playing cards with extended family and friends and delighted in playing video games with his grandchildren. He was a lifelong car enthusiast who could be found repairing cars or sharing his knowledge. Later in life he savored watching classic movies especially westerns.

George is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Leilla the love of his life; his son Micheal Tarr of S. Yarmouth, his children Alex and husband John, & Micheal Tarr II; daughter Georgia Burk of Leominster and her son Steven Smith; son Scott and Kim Adrianne of Greenville, NH his children Angela, Scott Jr. & William; daughter Melissa Loftis and husband Todd of Palm Bay, FL and their children Bridget Eakins and husband Scott, & Sarah; son Timothy Tarr Sr. and wife Maureen of Westminster and his children Timothy Jr., Zachory, Ashley & Tiffany; daughter Bobbi-Jo Everett and husband Chris of Indialantic FL, their children Chris & Connor. Great-grandchildren; Lily Thorne, Amber & Adam Smith, Stephen Tarr and Claire Eakins. He is also survived by his two siblings Beverly Leiseur and Charles Tarr and many nieces & nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents and siblings; Jeanette Stockwell, Nancy Green, Veronica Marino, Francis Tarr, Michael Tarr, Donald Tarr, and Margaret Hinkley.

There will be a private Burial service to honor George’s life. George will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery in Fitchburg, MA.

George Tarr will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. His warmth, smile, wisdom and stories he shared will be missed by all who had the pleasure to know him.
