Obituary

Marion Elizabeth “Betty” Stott Ross, 68, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Friday, July 19, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her family.

Memorial graveside services will be held 10 AM, Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Robert Couey officiating. William Wingate, IV will give the eulogy. The family will greet friends following the service.

Ms. Ross was born April 19, 1956, in Marietta, Georgia, to the late James Richard Stott and Juanita Massey Stott Ketchum. She graduated high school in Gainesville, Florida. Following completion of her education, she worked for 33 years as a respiratory therapist with Irwin County Hospital. She was passionate about helping her patients. She dearly loved her family and her grands enjoyed spending time with their “Bebe”. She was a member of Ocilla Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Suzanne Ross Jordan & John of Ocilla, Laura Ross Ray & Brian of Fitzgerald, and Lindsey Ross Todd & Ryan of Irwin County; companion, Rick Gunby of Ocilla; grandchildren: James Allen Bryant & Taylor, Morgan Bryant & Nathan Tucker, Tristin Bohler, Ashton Bohler, Cleve McMahan, Cash McMahan, and Cason Covington; step-grandchildren: Braeton Jordan, Cam McBryde, Nicholas Jordan, JonAlan Ray, and Brennen Ray; great-grandchildren: Hayes Bryant, Beckham McBryde, and Braxton Ray; siblings and their spouses: Richard Massey Stott of Tappahannock, Virginia, Carolyn Stott Carter of Ocilla, Harmon Anthony Stott & Cathy of Ocilla, and Jo Stott Wingate & Billy of Lax; along with many nieces and nephews.
