LOUDON ---- Henry ‘Joe’ Philip Croteau, Jr., 89, of Clough Hill Road, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024, at the Granite VNA Hospice House in Concord.
Joe was born September 9, 1934, in Laconia, the son of Henry Philip Croteau, Sr. and Eva Arthemise (Dickson) Croteau.
After graduating from Sacred Heart High School, he enlisted in the US Army stationed in Portier, France as a military police officer. In 1961 he married, and lived in Saunders Bay in Gilford, NH for 29 years before moving to Loudon, NH.
He owned and operated Joe Croteau Plumbing and Heating in Loudon for 50 years, working as a plumber until retiring in July 2015.
Joe was a hard worker and passed many lessons to his family and friends. He was a quiet, kind and humble man. He had a silly sense of humor and knew how to make people laugh. His love and devotion to his family could be felt by all. He enjoyed weekends with them at the lake or home for a family dinner. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren's and great-grandchildren’s activities and was always willing to help others.
Joe was a communicant of St. Andre Bessette Parish-Sacred Heart Church.
He enjoyed carpentry, watching sports, cooking, NASCAR and all sweet treats.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Roberta Ann Croteau of Loudon; two daughters, Sue Dore and her husband, Tom, of Laconia, and Sandy Bell and her husband, Steve, of Loudon; five grandchildren, Brittany Paradie, Brandon Bell and his wife, Morgan, Benjamin Bell, Josh Dore and his wife, Justine, and Kali Dore; and five great-grandchildren, Natalie Paradie, Henry Dore, Harper Dore, Grace Bell, and Jaxson Bell. He was predeceased by his parents and his son Bill Wilkens III.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024, from 12pm-3pm at Levitt Park, 334 Elm St., Laconia, NH 03246.
