Lester L. Gilliam, age 72, was born in Queens, New York to parents Lee Edward Gilliam and
Leslie Mae Singletary Gilliam.
He grew up on Home Street / Boston Road in the Bronx. As teenager and young adult, he was
into martial arts. He had a love for music, dancing, playing basketball, and cards with his boys.
He was known for his sense of humor, the family’s original dad with the bad dad jokes. Also
known for his charm, wits, and gift-of-gab. Lester met his first wife Ruby Watson Gilliam on Boston Road in 1969 and married 1972, from this union his first two daughters was born, Lester met his second wife Valerie Jones Gilliam in 1980 and married 1986, from this union his last three children was born. Lester continued to find
love with his third wife Josse B. Gilliam who has proceeded him in death. He spent his last
years with his fourth wife Alba McCalla. Lester was dedicated to education. He received several certificates of study. He received his bachelor’s degree from Saint Joseph’s College and worked in finance as an account. His love for God and religion lead him to become certified ordained for the gospel ministry.

Gilliam, Lauren jones, Christoper Lawrence Gilliam, Lorraine Wilson, Brooklynn Gilliam Brown.
Great Grand Children: Sani Dionne Greene, Steven Greene. Step Daughters: Sareve Lawson,
Alia Akili. Honorary Daughter: Latoya Saunders and a host of family and friends.
