HOLLIS- Lester R. Poole, age 66, passed away on July 14, 2024, at Maine Medical Center.
He was born in Sanford on Feb. 4, 1958, a child of the late Donald Sr. and Bertha (Kimball) Poole. He attended Waterboro schools and graduated from Bonny Eagle High School.
Over the years Lester worked at Eagle Industries, was an equipment operator for Maine Dept. of Transportation, and was a mail handler at the York County Superior Court.
Lester’s passions in life were riding his motorcycle and attending Masonic events. He was a Past Master of Dayspring Lodge, a member of the Widow’s Sons, a noble in Kora Shrine, and was active in York Rite Commandry and the Knights Templar.
Lester was also a dedicated firefighter and had served in South Hollis, Hollis, Buxton, Waterboro, Acton, and Alfred Fire Departments.
Lester enjoyed smoking a good cigar and playing cribbage with his friends Steve, Mike and Bill.
He is predeceased by brothers Donald Jr. and Wayne.
Lester is survived by several siblings.
Per Lester’s request, there will be no formal services.
