Obituary

SOUTH HADLEY – Karen M. (Jozefczyk) Superski, 63, of South Hadley, was Called Safely Home on Monday, July 15, 2024. She passed into Eternal Life at Cooley Dickinson Hospital surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on May 19, 1961, a beloved daughter of Nancy L. (Thorpe) Landry of South Hadley and Robert S. Jozefczyk and his partner, Ellen Abernathy, of Springfield. She was raised and educated in South Hadley where she lived for most of her life. She was a Certified Nurse Aide at the former Wingate Nursing Home and was a communicant of Saint Patrick Church, both in South Hadley. In her leisure time, she loved watching and feeding the birds, gardening around her home, and being with her dog, Buddy. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and many friends. In addition to her parents, she leaves her three loving children, Marie Garcia and her husband, Carlos, of Woodbridge, VA, Kelly Hammond and her husband, Lou, of Averill Park, NY, and Steven Kennedy of Wellington, FL; her four cherished grandchildren, Lauryn and Alexis Garcia, and Alaina and Liam Hammond; her dear brother, Paul J. Jozefczyk of South Hadley; her dear stepbrother, Richard K. Landry and his wife, Lisa, of Granby; her dear sister in law, Rosa Jozefczyk of Ludlow; her former husband, Edward Superski of Springfield; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved stepfather, Kenneth R. Landry who was Called Home on August 20, 2015; and her dear brother, William C. Jozefczyk who was Called Home on April 27, 2019. Her family will receive friends on Saturday, July 27, 2024 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with a Prayer Service at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The funeral home parking lot is located in the rear. Her Burial will follow the Prayer Service at Notre Dame Cemetery, 63 Lyman Street, South Hadley, MA 01075.Her family requests that memorial donations be made in her memory to the Dakin Humane Society, P.O.
