Obituary

WEBSTER – Robert J.” Bob” Laramie, 77, died unexpectedly Friday, July 12, 2024 in Bay State Medical Center, Springfield with his family at his side.

He leaves his wife of almost 57 years, Madelyn C. (Tyrrell) Laramie; 2 daughters, Melissa A. Laramie and Jennifer l. Laramie, both of Webster; 3 grandchildren, Jackson, Maxx and Eloise; a sister, Carol Barbour of Webster; nephews and nieces.

He was born on September 29, 1946 in Webster, the first child of Desire and Hattie (Springer) Laramie and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Bartlett High School in 1964 and earned an Associate’s Degree from New England School of Accounting.

He served in the United States Army Reserves for 6 years.

Mr. Laramie worked as an accountant all his life, most recently at the David Rischitelli Accounting Firm in Shrewsbury. He was still preparing individual and corporate taxes from his home.

He was an avid camper and belonged to the Quinebaug Valley Campers since 1982 and served as its treasurer for 13 years. He also enjoyed NASCAR racing.

Bob was a member of Saint Louis Church and enjoyed cooking at the parish festivals for many years.

His greatest joy in life was spending his time with his grandchildren, attending all their sports events and other activities. He was a constant presence in their lives.

His funeral will be held from the Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street on Wednesday, July 24, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Saint Louis Church, 14 Lake Street. Burial will be held privately. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:30 AM Wednesday in the funeral home, prior to the Mass. Donations in his name may be made to Saint Louis Church, c/o the Parish Center, 52 Negus Street, Webster, MA 01570.
