Obituary

Teresa Korzep left this world to join her family in the afterlife on July 12th 2024. Her husband, Stanley Korzep, predeceased her in 1995. She was also predeceased by her brother, Jerzy Ciak in 2000, a sister-in-law, Jadwiga Ciak in 2021, and three nephews, Andrzej in 1993, Jarek in 2019 and Piotr in 2021. She was also predeceased by her dog, Skittles in 2023, whom she loved dearly.

She was born and raised in Poland, daughter of the late Anna (Jurzak) and Bronislaw Ciak , and immigrated to the US in 1980 where she instantly fell in love with her new life in this country. She accomplished the American Dream all immigrants seek, by starting a family, getting a great job and purchasing a home to raise her family in. She became a natural citizen in 1999.

Teresa leaves behind a daughter, Monika Anna Korzep St.Dennis and her husband Walter, a son, Eric Stanley Korzep, and her grand children, Janessa Korzep (Christian Barry), Walter IV and Catherine. She also leaves behind a great granddaughter, Juniper, due in September. She leaves behind 2 sisters, Elzbieta and Jadwiga, 2 brother- in -laws, 3 sister-in-laws and many nieces and nephews.

Teresa loved watching sports, including being a big fan of The Boston Red Sox, and she loved the beach and would try to get there whenever she could, searching for sand dollars and enjoying the serene and content sounds of the wide open ocean. She also loved her dogs, Pork Chop and Skittles, and enjoyed taking them for walks everyday. She was a rock for her grandchildren, ready to drop everything to help them in any way she could.

Teresa was retired and a homemaker since leaving her job with Digital Corporation in early 2000's. Although she "Americanized" herself, she still held onto her Polish traditions, of having her family over for Christmas Eve Wigilia, making her delicious Golabki, and listening to her favorite Polish Christmas music still on a cassette tape. She was caring, loving and an amazing babcia to her grandchildren. Everyone who knew her didn't call her Teresa, they called her Babci.

Teresa's family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the amazing healthcare team at UMASS Lake Ave 6 ICU for their care and commitment to care for Teresa during her final weeks, especially to Nurses Kelley, Shannon and Casey, and Dr. Marie Mullen. Our family thanks you all for your hard work, respect and dignity during our mother's final days on this earth.
