Mary Jane Shearns, of Millis, passed away after a short battle with cancer on July 11, 2024.
Born in Boston, Mary Jane grew up on Mission Hill and married her high school sweetheart John J. Shearns. They then moved to Millis to raise their family. Known as MJ to her community, she was affectionately known by so many that grew up there.
She is survived by her four children and their spouses: Chuck Shearns and Wife Karen, Rick Shearns and Wife Denise, Kerry Devellis and Husband Joe, and John Shearns and Wife Jennifer. She especially adored her grandkids and their spouses: Kayla Shearns and Fiancé Paul Nadjarian, Olivia Shearns, Casey Shearns, Riley Shearns, Madison Shearns, Elizabeth Shearns, Colin Devellis, Katelyn Devellis, Donovan Devellis, David Shearns and Wife Kathrine Shearns, Alexa Shearns, Victoria Shearns, and Leah Shearns.
Mary Jane was an avid reader, finding great joy and inspiration from a good book. She and her husband enjoyed trips and traveling together, creating cherished memories over their 50 years of marriage. Mary Jane found immense joy in celebrating her grandchildren's accomplishments and she will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
