Obituary

Phuoc Thi Trinh, 100, of Worcester died Saturday, July 13th in the Lutheran Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her loving family. Her husband of 71 years, Thu Van Ngo died in 2019. She leaves her four sons, Tinh Van Ngo and Le Hoa, Thuong Van Ngo, Dien Van Ngo and Mai Dinh all of Worcester and Hoang Van Ngo and Kim Huynh of Florida; four daughters, That Thi Ngo, Mai Thi Ngo, Cindy Canh Ngo and Ngan Nguyen, and Talena Thu Ngo and Ho Nguyen all of Worcester; 27 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Phuoc’s life was a testament to resilience, love, and unwavering faith. Born into a life of farming, Phuoc worked tirelessly to provide for her family, raising eight children during the challenging times of war and drought. Despite the hardships, she demonstrated immense strength and dedication, making countless sacrifices to bring her family to the United States in 1979. Driven by the hope for a better future and new opportunities, Phuoc’s courage and determination ensured her family’s safety and prosperity.
Upon arriving in the United States, Phuoc embraced her new life with same tenacity she had always shown. She worked in a factory as a skilled tailor until she retired.
A devout Catholic, Phuoc was a cherished member of Our Lady of Vilna Church. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, providing her with strength and solace throughout her journey. Phuoc’s dedication to her faith was matched only by her devotion to her family. She instilled in her children the values of kindness, love, and mutual respect, ensuring that these principles would guide them throughout their lives.
Phuoc's legacy is one of love, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to her family and faith. She leaves behind a family that is forever grateful for her guidance and love. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will continue to honor her memory by living the values she so passionately instilled in them.
Her funeral is Saturday, July 20th with Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Vilna Church, 53 Sterling Street. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday, July 19th from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue.
