Ronald J. Nelms, 70, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Friday, July 12, 2024, at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Monday, July 15, 2024, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, with Randy McDuffie officiating and Garrett Nelms delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
Mr. Nelms was born April 21, 1954 in Ben Hill County to Jack Nelms and the late Mary Watson Nelms. Ronald was a truck driver and a security guard at Delphi & West Fraser. He had many hobbies including his love for antique cars, guitar playing and cooking in order to feed others. Mr. Nelms was a pilot, member of the Antique Car Club and President of the Fitzgerald Boat Club.
Along with this father he is survived by his wife, Louise MacDonald Nelms; brothers and their spouses, Danny & Connie Nelms of Fitzgerald and Gary & Dena Nelms of Ocilla; nieces and nephews: Lori Nelms Swanson, Amanda Nelms Steverson & Brad, Kayla & Will Nash and Garrett & Amanda Nelms.
