Obituary

Eva D. Galanis, 4, of Sutton died Thursday, July 11th. She leaves her loving parents, Dr. Demetrios and Chrisoula (Perakis) Galanis; her brothers, Elias and Harry Galanis both of Sutton; her paternal grandmother, Mina (Koutra) Galanis of Worcester; and her maternal grandparents, Haridimos “Harry” and Dimitra (Batsarisakis) Perakis of Worcester. She also leaves her aunts, uncle, Tina Kachadoorian of Shrewsbury, Jane Barbour and her husband, Patrick of Shrewsbury, and Nicholas Perakis of Worcester; cousins, Elias, Eleni who was also her loving God Mother, and George Kachadoorian; Nicole, Mikaela, Sean, and Sarah Barbour; many second cousins, great aunts, great uncles and extended family and friends in the United States and in Greece. She was predeceased by her paternal grandfather, Elias Galanis.
She was born in Worcester and attended Sutton Public Schools. Eva was a beloved member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Her joyful spirit and infectious smile brightened the lives of everyone around her.
Eva found immense joy in singing, watching her favorite movie “Moana”, and playing outside with her cousins and brothers. Eva’s days were filled with laughter as she enjoyed the playground, playing dress up, and adorning herself with jewelry from her vanity. She treasured the time spent with her two Yiayias and her Papou, who were among her greatest joys.
She was the littlest angel and the youngest of all the children, a precious soul whose memory will forever remain in our hearts. Her short but beautiful life touched many, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the first responders of Sutton, the Massachusetts State Police, and the medical team at UMass Hospital for their compassion, care, and the support they offered Eva’s family. Additionally, the family wishes to acknowledge and thank the Shultz Family, the Harris Family, the Papalilo Family, the Hicks Family, and the Gass family for their unwavering support during this difficult time. They are also deeply grateful to the community for joining in the search to find Eva as well as the outpouring of support and love.
