Obituary

Karlton D. Sampson, age 69, of Brockton, died unexpectedly on July 8, 2024. Born and raised in Brockton, he was the son of the late Deane and Mary V. (Burke) Sampson. He was a graduate of Brockton High School, worked for Capeway Landscaping for 15 years and for 45 years owned and operated Karlton Sampson Landscaping. He was able to visualize the art of landscaping and was known for his workmanship.

Karlton was known as a devoted family man, a caring and loving protector to all who knew him. He was a long-time member of both the Bertocci Club and Club National. Karlton enjoyed life to its fullest. He loved his trips to Las Vegas. He was a big fan of television in general, but was a fanatic when it came to western movies and Elvis Presley movies. Most recently, he became a Hallmark movie fan, but he had always been a bit of a comedian. Karlton never needed an excuse to spend time with his family and friends, especially when it came to golfing and fishing
.
Karlton was the brother of Deane Sampson of Brockton, John Sampson of Brockton, Deana Porter and her husband Gary of East Bridgewater, Diane Houde and her husband Michael of Brockton, Tara Sampson and her fiancé Anthony Sergio of Bridgewater, Peggie Poliseno of Lake City, FL and Karen Sampson of Lake City, FL. He is also survived by his former wife Diane Briggs and her children Jennifer Briggs of Taunton and Mark Briggs of Wareham, 8 nieces and nephews, 14 great nieces and nephews, 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

A celebration of Karlton’s life will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, on Saturday, July 20 from 11am-2pm, followed by a funeral service at 2pm.
