Charles W. Henderson, Jr.
TEWKSBURY: Charles W. “Charlie” Henderson, Jr., age 59, a resident of Tewksbury for 27 years, formerly of Malden, passed away at home in the care of his wife, sister and hospice on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was the beloved husband of Lidia (Cataldo) Henderson, with whom he celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary on June 12, 2024.
Born in Stoneham on April 16, 1965, he was the son of the late Charles W. Henderson, Sr. and the late Shirley Ann (Myers) Henderson.
Charlie was raised in Malden, attended Malden schools and graduated from Malden High School in 1983. He was a former Employee of Comcast Corporation where he worked for 35 years.
As a kid, Charlie enjoyed spending summer weekends and vacations at Lake Attitash in Amesbury with his family and friends. He loved hockey and played both hockey and basketball throughout his school years. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, playing golf, and cooking on the barbecue. Filet mignon was his specialty and of course, a good old fashion burger. Charlie was fascinated by law investigation and forensics and spent many hours watching true crime series. He also loved watching and learning about animal habitat and National Geographic was one of his favorite channels. Most notably, Charlie loved spending time with his wife and friends where he was usually the life of the party. He always made people laugh and had a great sense of humor.
In addition to his wife, Lidia, he leaves two sisters, Janice Les and her husband John, of Salem, NH, and Diane Melanson and her husband Stephen, of Medford. He also leaves much extended family including 16 nieces and nephews and 16 great nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends will be received on Wednesday, July 17th from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury. A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 18th, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Donations in his memory may be made to Tufts Medicine Care at Home, 360 Merrimack Street, Lawrence, MA 01843.
