Obituary

David Edward Rodenbush, 92, died peacefully Saturday morning, July 6, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. David was a lifetime resident of Brockton. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Monssen, 3rd Division.

Our beloved dad was so proud of his family. He would want us to find joy and continue to make memories together. David was humble, always standing in the background watching his family shine. He was a man of integrity, a kind, strong, honorable man. He was a great athlete that could have taken his baseball career to the next level. His love for June was more important. This wonderful man enjoyed his family most. We are fortunate to have had him in our lives for so many years. His patient approach, guidance and kindness touched so many. He will live in our hearts forever and ever and ever.

Our father would not like his family to go on about him without mentioning our dear mother June Olive Thompson, whom he married on April 18, 1954. After 67 wonderful years together, June passed away in March 2020. Those blessed to have June’s sunshine warm them can understand why she was the love of David’s life. They are together now, sitting on “their” bench on Cape Cod.

David and June are survived by their children and their spouses: Linda and Rick Snow, Laurie and Tim Little, Lisa and Bill Landenberger, Luanne and Paul Gagliano, Lorna and Fran Perry, Leslie and Kevin McCarthy, Lizabeth and Michael Cort, Paul and Maura (Loftus) Rodenbush, Stephen and Dierdre (Loftus) Rodenbush and Leigh and Ronnie Duff. They also leave their 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He was the brother of Joseph "Chick" Rodenhush and his wife Maureen, his sister Patricia Delongchamps and his beloved Janira Alves his care provider.

Father Neil Wack will celebrate a funeral Mass for both David and June Rodenbush on Wednesday July 17, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church, 193 Main Street, North Easton, MA. Family and friends may visit the family at the church 9-9:50 am before the Mass. The burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Amedisys, Inc. Amedisys Foundation, 3854 American Way, Suite A, Baton Rouge, LA 70816. (Beacon Hospice)
