Richard “Dickie” Bugeau, 71, of Kingston, NH, died Monday July 8, 2024 at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, NH, surrounded by his loving family after a period of declining health. He was born in DeRidder, LA, on September 30, 1952, a son of Albert Bugeau and the late Rita (Labbe) Bugeau. He was a resident of Kingston, NH, formerly living in Londonderry, NH, Nashua, NH, and Berlin, NH.
"Dickie" had special needs. In 1967, his parents moved the family to Nashua to attend Mt. Hope School which broadened his educational opportunities and enabled him to learn skills of daily living. He had a beautiful, deep singing voice and often sang at Mt. Hope events. After graduation from Mt. Hope School, Dickie joined The Plus Company in Nashua. In later years, his family moved to Londonderry and Dickie became a client of Moore Center Services. In both settings, he worked in several supervised settings.
Dickie was a ray of sunshine to everyone he knew. He loved people and was always cheerful and upbeat, seeing the positive in everyone and every situation. He took part in Special Olympics several times and was a member of the Sundial Basketball Team. Dickie loved dogs, cars and motors, music and dancing.
In addition to his father, Albert Bugeau of Kingston, Dickie is survived by his sister, Lucille Michaud and her husband, Carl, of Londonderry; his brother, John Bugeau and his wife, Donna, of Nashua; nieces, Melissa Bugeau and her partner, James Lindsay, of Nashua, and Corinne Bugeau-Medas and her husband, Jason Medas, of Dover; nephews, Andrew Michaud of Lynn, MA, and Matthew Michaud of Londonderry; great-nephew DeShaun Bugeau-Medas, of Dover; and great-nieces Madeline and Emma Lindsay, of Nashua.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, July 15th from 4 – 6pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 16th at 10:00am in St. Jude Parish, 435 Mammoth Road, Londonderry. The burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in Londonderry.
