Obituary

The story of Mike Lefebvre’s life is written in his hands; those hands saw him love, laugh and live to the max. They bear testament to his imbued sense of hard work, his talents, his love and caring for others and his complete dedication to those he loved most.
Michael R. Lefebvre, 30, “Mike” to family and friends, of Woonsocket passed away on Thursday July 4, 2024 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence surrounded by the love of his family from injuries received on Monday July 1, 2024 in Woonsocket.
Born in Woonsocket Mike was the loving son of and Linda G. (Lemay) Garfield and Jay Garfield and Charles David Lefebvre.
Mike was a lifelong resident of the city and a graduate of Woonsocket High School with the class of 2012.
Mike was a dedicated employee with the team at Bellingham Parts Plus as a tow truck driver. He was also employed at Mid-Town Auto and Sandy’s Towing. Mike was well-known for his hard work, team effort and good nature in the tough and demanding world to auto service. To his work family at Solect Energy he was known by the affectionate nickname “Bones”.
Simply put….To know Mike was to love him.
Mike would readily admit that his greatest accomplishment in life was his daughter Sofia. Being the best dad he could possibly be to Sofia was job #1 to Mike. His love for Sofia cannot be put into mere words. From the moment she entered the world Sofia stole Mike’s heart and she was at the forefront of his thoughts, hopes and dreams.
Mike was one of the hardest working people you’d ever meet. It is no exaggeration to say that he pretty much worked 7 days a week. But he made time for fun too!
Mike was a very adept mechanic and all around auto worker. He found his niche in life working on cars (especially Volkswagen Jetta’s and GTIs) and serving in the towing industry. In recent times Mike was working toward to goal of owning and operating his own towing business. Mike was a regular on the local car show circuit and you’d often see him accompanied by Sofia as they had fun working on cars, going to shows or taking a ride to such places as Beavertail Park in Jamestown.
Mike was one of the best friends you could ask for. He was completely devoted to his friends and would be the first one to help with anything for someone in need. Mike made it a point to keep in contact with his family and friends on a daily basis.
Although Mike was taken from us far too young and much too suddenly to put into words, his family wants to make everyone aware of Mike’s final gift to the world. Mike gave the gift of life as an organ donor. Mike was able to save the life of several people by his selfless act of organ donation.
Mike Lefebvre managed to live, love and laugh more in his all too brief 30 years with us than many people do in a whole lifetime. His legacy of love and friendship will undoubtedly live on.
Mike would want those he loved and called family and friends to continue to love and care of each other as he did…. Life is an open road…. Rev up the engine, put it in drive and step on the gas!!!!!!
In addition to his parents and his daughter Sofia, Mike is survived by his brothers and sisters, Matthew Lefebvre and his wife Nicole, Jason Garfield, Aurora Lefebvre, Amber Garfield and his twin sisters Nicole Lefebvre and her fiancé Roberto and Erika Lefebvre. Mike is survived by Sofia’s mother Miranda Paille. He was the grandson of the late Robert and Claire (Duplessis) Lemay. He is also survived by his loving uncle who was his godfather and one of his best friends Joseph Lemay. Mike is also survived by his many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and cousins and a large circle of his “work family” and many other friends whom he considered part of his own family.
All are welcome to a celebration of Mike’s life to be held on Sunday August 4, 2024 at 2:00 pm at the Millerville Men’s Club 8 Lloyd St. Blackstone, MA. 01504.
In lieu of flowers, and in support of Mike’s twin sisters Nicole and Erika who have both courageously battled cystic fibrosis, the family suggests that memorial donations in Mike’s memory be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Massachusetts/Rhode Island Chapter 220 North Main St. Suite 104 Natick, MA. 01760 or www.cff.org .
