Michael William McGowan Sr. (56) of Brockton died July 6th due to Cholangicarcinoma at home under hospice care surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Tracy A. (Jones) McGowan of Brockton.
He was born in Stoughton, son of James F. McGowan and the late Edith M. (Ellis) McGowan. Michael worked for the Volta Oil Company in Plymouth as a petroleum tanker driver, he also worked for the Shell Oil Company in Massachusetts and Air Products in Georgia. He was a communicant of St. Colemans Church and St. Bridget's Church. He attended Quincy College and was a friend of all, enemy of none and beloved by everyone who knew him.
In addition to his wife and father is survived by his son Michael W. McGowan, his daughter Katherine E. McGowan, (father of the late Erin McGowan), 3 brothers, Bruce Hinman, James McGowan Ill and Thomas McGowan, 7 sisters, Sandra Graffum, Jayne Shea, Edith Vecchoine, Roberta Moriarty, Martha Lee, Valerie lesac and Gail McGowan, a grandchild Dallas McGowan.
Visitation in the Home of Funerarias Multi Cultural, 238 Court Street Brockton Thursday July 11th from 4-7 pm.
Services in the Funeral Home Friday July 12th at 9:30 am. Followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Bridget's Church, 455 Plymouth Street Abington at 10:30 am. Burial to follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, 125 Central Street Rockland.
Following the Burial Services, everyone is invited to Lynch's Tavern, 236 North Avenue Abington for moment of fellowship and refreshments.
