LACONIA ---- Arlene Marie Wilson (née Lessard), born on January 1, 1933, in Laconia, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at the age of 91, in Boscawen, New Hampshire.
Arlene attended Sacred Heart School with her education culminating at Laconia High School. She was an avid reader, seldom finishing a book without having the next one ready. Her passion for genealogy led her to collect extensive family histories, a testament to her deep connection to her roots and her large, beloved family.
Her enjoyment of quilting was evident in her active participation in a quilting circle, where she formed lasting friendships and traveled to numerous retreats. Mom loved the smell and taste of chocolate, relaxing music, flowers, watching the parade, doing a puzzle on New Year’s Day and cold beer and pizza!
Arlene's love for her family was paramount. She is survived by her loving children, Linda Nelson Bohrer (Gary) of Grantham, NH, Gary (Diane) Nelson of Carrizozo, NM, Mark Paine of Sunapee, NH, Mitch (Annette) Paine of Gilford, NH, Cathy Nelson Orff of Raymond, NH, Bonnie Paine Waldron of Hubbardston, MA, Janice (Ross) Bagley of Laconia, NH and Todd (Don) Paine of Baltimore, MD. She was preceded in death by her spouses, Peter Nelson of Lakeport, NH, Alan Paine of Laconia, NH and Leo Wilson of Tilton, NH, as well as her children Susan Paine Lowe and Michael Paine. Her parents Ruth Corriveau and Roland Lessard, also preceded her in death. She leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will remember her with great love as their Umma.
A Celebration of Arlene's Life will be held to honor her memory and the joy she brought to so many. Her legacy will continue to live on through her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
There will be no calling hours.
A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 11:00am, at Union Cemetery, Academy Street (Please use the Garfield Street entrance due to construction on Academy Stret), Laconia, NH.
A Celebration of Life will follow the burial at 11:30am, at the Conference Center on Blueberry Lane, 35 Blueberry Lane, Laconia, NH.
