Clarinda C. (daCosta) Andrade, 96, of New Bedford died August 23, 2002 at Blaire House of New Bedford after a brief illness.
She was the wife of the late Joaquim F. Andrade and daughter of the late Benjamin and Matilde (Faria) daCosta.
Mrs. Andrade was born in Brava, Cape Verde and lived there before moving to New Bedford in 1966.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
Survivors include a son, John B. Andrade, and his wife Connie, of Dartmouth; 2 daughters, Maria M. Freitas, and her husband John, and Dolores A. Lomba, and her husband Daniel, all of New Bedford; 7 grandchildren, John Lomba, Vanessa Carvalho, Nancy Lomba, Daniel Lomba, Jr., Felicia Andrade, Terrance and Carmen Barboza; 7 great-grandchildren, Chad Lomba, Matthew Lomba, Kelsey Carvalho, Marissa Lomba, Jacqueline Barboza, Frederick Barboza and Nellie Barboza; several nieces and nephews.
She was the brother of the late John daCosta.
