Carolyn (LaRocque) Sharples, 81, of Westport, peacefully passed away at her daughter's home on Friday, July 5, 2024 with family by her side. She was the wife of James L. Sharples, they shared 61 years of marriage together.
Mrs. Sharples was born in Fall River, daughter of the late Norman and Stella (Rogala) LaRocque and had been a longtime resident of Westport. She and her husband spent winters in Zephyrhills, FL for the past 38 years and made many great friends. Prior to retirement, she worked as a waitress in many area restaurants. She loved flowers, nature and animals. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors along with her husband include her daughter: Bonnie Paul and her significant other Reynold Joseph of Westport; 2 sisters: Gloria Gustafson of FL and Debra Moore of Westport; 3 grandchildren: Devin Paul and his wife Brianna, Dylan Bernier and his significant other Marydawn and Kendall Furtado and her wife Leanna; a great granddaughter: Ava Bernier; along with many nephews.
She was the mother of the late Kevin J. Sharples and sister of the late Patricia LaRocque.
Service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at the Potter Funeral Home at 11:30 A.M.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 10-11:30 A.M. prior t o the service.
Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery.
