Worcester – Rubén Rivera, 75, of Worcester, passed away in UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus on Monday, July 1, 2024 after an illness.
Mr. Rivera is survived by his three daughters, Marilyn Rivera of Worcester, Hailyn Rivera of Leominster and Nadja Rivera of Puerto Rico; a son, Rubén Rivera of Wesley Chapel, FL; three brothers, Andrés Rivera of Florida, Efraín Rivera of Puerto Rico and Jaime Rivera of Puerto Rico; a son in law, Josue Pantojas; a daughter in law, Gladys N. Ledee; an aunt, Antonia Diaz; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Rubén was born in Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico son of the late Andrés Rivera and Josefina Díaz. He worked his entire career in the construction industry where he developed many skills that enabled him to help his family and friends with projects throughout the years.
Rubén loved to sing and listen to music. A brave man filled with humility, always happy with the little things whether it be enjoying a game of dominos or just being a part of a family gathering. He was the happiest when he was able to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Our thanks go out to the Christopher House, the nursing home that provided care for our Father and treated him with dignity, kindness, and the utmost respect. We bless you and honor you.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, July 9 from 4 to 7 PM in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester.
