Robert “Bob” L Pierce, 79, of Bridgewater, passed away unexpectedly June 29th, 2024, at South Shore Hospital. After a major stroke in 2016, Bob fought tenaciously to regain his independence despite the odds against him.
Born in Bridgewater, MA February 22nd 1945, Robert was the son of the late Lewis J. Pierce and Josephine (Luiz) Pierce of Brockton, MA. Robert was a proud serviceman of the United States Marine Corps from the years 1965-1972, serving a tour in the Vietnam War and receiving numerous medals for his bravery.
Bob spoke fondly of his time growing up in Brockton, where he worked as a salesman for Thom McAns, and United Liquors. He was known to light up rooms with his boisterous laugh and wit. Bob had immense gratitude for life, and a never back down attitude. He loved the New England Patriots, Elvis Presley, scorching hot beach days and impromptu trips to the casino. Above everything, he loved being a father and a “Grampy” to his girls.
Robert leaves behind two daughters, Brittany Cavagnaro, her husband Scott and their daughters Cecilia and Stella Cavagnaro of West Bridgewater, MA. Nicole Davis and her wife Kathleen of Bridgewater, MA. Preceded by his brothers, Lewis J. Pierce, and Eugene A. Pierce, and beloved Stepson Derek J. Barrett. He also leaves behind many adored nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman, MA Tuesday July 9th, from 5-7 PM. Funeral Services will follow on Wednesday July 10th at St. Thomas Aquinas in Bridgewater at 10 AM, followed by a burial service at Bourne National Cemetery at 1:30 PM.
