With great sadness and heavy heart we announce the loss of our beloved father,
Vladimir Papi, 73, of Worcester. Vladimir passed away peacefully Saturday, June 29th at home surrounded by his loving family. He leaves his loving wife of 45 years, Valentina Kote; his children, Petro Papi and Blerta Papi both of Worcester.
He was born in Tirana, Albania the son of Petro and Marika (Leshnja) Papi. Vladimir’s journey though life was marked by dedication, achievement, and a profound love for family and community.
Vladimir worked as a forensic chemist specializing in drugs and homicide for the Ministry of Defense. His expertise and commitment to his work also led him to serve as a representative for Albania with the United Nations, where he made significant contributions.
In 1993, Vladimir immigrated to the United States, working extremely hard and In 2000, he opened KP’s, a well-known breakfast & lunch restaurant that quickly became a cherished local favorite. KP’s first opened in Holden, and later moved to Rutland, where Vladimir continued to share his culinary talents with the community until his retirement in 2017.
Vladimir was a sweet natured man of many talents and passions. He was fluent in Albanian, Russian, English, Bulgarian, and Slavic languages, which allowed him to connect with a diverse array of people. A self-taught musician, Vladimir found joy in playing the piano, guitar, harmonica, and more, often filling his home with beautiful melodies that will be forever missed.
Vladimir’s legacy is one of warmth, dedication, and the joy he brought to those around him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him
Calling hours are Friday, July 5th from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will be private.
