Alice Marie (Fuller) Sutherland, 94, of Bellingham, MA, died July 1 at her home following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late George F. Sutherland.
Born in Boston, Alice was the daughter of the late James E. and Hazel (Nickerson) Fuller. Alice was raised in Dorchester and had resided in Quincy and Scituate before moving to Bellingham.
Alice was the first woman computer professional at the John Hancock Insurance Company and later worked as an office manager for a doctor’s office.
Alice had been very active at her church. She was a past Prefect of Our Ladies Sodality at Blessed Sacrament Parish in Quincy, MA, and a member of The Ladies of Saint Anne at Saint Blaise Parish in Bellingham, MA. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed teaching her grandchildren how to crochet.
She is survived by her children: George Sutherland, Jr. and his wife Debra of Biddeford, ME; Brian Sutherland of Bellingham, MA; Ann Marie Beaudette and her husband Stephen of Biddeford, ME; Karen Giovannucci and her late husband Robert of Bellingham, MA; and Donna Moran and her husband, Jerry of Bellingham, MA.
She is also survived by her sisters, Hazel A. Fuller of Everett, MA, and Marion C. Fuller of Quincy, MA, and was the sister of the late Helen M. Fuller.
She was the grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Her funeral Mass will be held on Monday, July 8, in St. Blaise Church at 10:00 AM. Collation to follow at St. Blaise Church Hall immediately following the services.
A private burial will be at Holyhood Cemetery, Brookline, MA.
