Russell C. Flynne, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2024. Born on February 21, 1953 in Derby, CT to the late Carlton Flynne and Jane Forsyth. Russell raised his family in Westwood, MA and built a business in Roslindale, MA. Russell is survived by his sister, Holly Flynne of Sharon, MA to whom he was a devoted brother. He is also survived by his children, Russell Jr. and his wife Denise of Norwood, MA, Richard and his wife Ashley of Derry, NH, and his youngest son Stephen of Norwood, MA. His grandchildren, Katelyn and Sean, were a great sense of pride to him. Though their paths diverged, Russell shared 38 years of marriage with Louise Shulsk Flynne. Russell was best known as the owner of Wallpaper City Inc. in Roslindale and he enjoyed many years of getting to know his customers and community. He looked forward to seeing his regular patrons and enjoyed helping people with their home improvements. Russell was a staple in the Roslindale community. Russell obtained both his pilot's license as well as a competitive racing license. He raced his own 1965 Shelby Mustang at vintage races around the country. His greatest memories included taking first place in his very first race at Watkins Glen in New York. He also raced at the Daytona International Speedway in Florida. Visiting Hours will be held at the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St., West Roxbury on Tuesday, July 9th from 4:00pm to 7:00pm.
