After a courageous and hard-fought fight Stephen A. Glines, Sr. passed away peacefully on June 25, 2024, surrounded by his children.
Stephen A. Glines, Sr., Big Steve, Papa Steve, Dad, Brother, Uncle, Veteran, Friend. Steve was Born in Medford, Massachusetts on October 31, 1948. Steve grew up and spent most of his life as a resident of Medford. He attended the Medford Vocational High school. He served this country in the United States Army in the 82nd Airborne Division.
He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Glines. His mother, Pansy Glines, and his brother, Herbert “Sonny” Glines, Jr.
Steve is survived by his son, Stephen A. Glines, Jr. and his partner Katy Belanger, his daughter, Shannon DiRienzo and her husband Frank DiRienzo, his grandchildren, Skyla DiRienzo & Frankie DiRienzo. His sisters, Kathleen McClellan of Medford, Sandra Glines of Everett, and Barbara Gebo Jimenez of Waltham. His niece, Idella Glines-Engel of Arizona, his nephews, Gerald McClellan, Jr., Leighton McClellan and Ron Konick and also his beloved friend Gayle Shine.
He loved nature and the outdoors. Whether it was camping in the north Maine woods, spotting red tail hawks or taking care of his many plants that he loved.
A beloved car enthusiast, from his 1957 Chevy, which was his first hot rod at the age of 16, to his 1961 Corvette, his 1947 Pontiac or his 1950 Plymouth, Steve loved hot rods!
He touched the lives of many. Whether it was years ago, looking out for the kids down Harris Park or later in life greeting you with a smile in the square, his daily meal and weather reports or stopping to talk Harley’s and hot rods. Steve always had a story to tell.
Steve will be greatly missed and always in our loving memory.
