Barbara Sue Tucker, 73, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, June 27, 2024, at her residence.
Graveside services will be held 2 PM, Sunday, June 30, 2024, at Evergreen Cemetery, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Bryan Luke officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday evening, from 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Tucker was born July 31, 1950, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late Irwin James & Ruth Hester Clemons. A graduate of Fitzgerald High School, Mrs. Tucker never missed a day. She took Secretarial classes at East Central Technical School. Mrs. Tucker worked in several sewing factories and the Cotton Mill; was a Librarian for Lynwood School; worked for American Blanching and was a clerk for several convenience stores. Mrs. Tucker enjoyed working in her yards and gardening, she had a green thumb. She was a member of Callie Garbutt Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children: Rebecca Costa & Joey of Fitzgerald and Russell Tucker, Jr. & Mindy of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Jason Tucker, Corey Hayes, Cody Tucker & Ashley Gee, Joseph Fulford & Megan, Megan Taylor & Robert and Courtney Sloan & Jacob; 8 great-grandchildren; her siblings: Jimmy Ray & Lisa Clemons of Navarro, Florida, Ronnie & Peggy Clemons of Fitzgerald and Lynn McCollum of Fitzgerald; and her dog, Eddie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Bill Clemons and Rodney “PeeWee” Clemons.
