Guiseppe “Joe” Ragucci of Westwood, formerly of West Roxbury, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family. Joe was born in Boston on November 29, 1931 to the late Angelo and Frances Ragucci.
A veteran of the United States Army, Joe proudly served in the Korean War. It was during his time in the military he met his beautiful wife Sheila while stationed in Japan. They were wed and gave birth to their two caring daughters, Patsy and Janice.
After serving in the military, Joe and his family returned stateside. He worked for a period in the United States Post Office before going full time as a self-employed landscaper. When not at work, Joe could be found around his home tending to the garden, pool, or watering his “nursery”. In retirement, Joe and Sheila would travel to Florida for the winter and his daughters and grandkids would come along, making memories they all would cherish. He loved his grandchildren and his 13 great grandchildren.
Joe is survived by his loving wife Sheila of Westwood, his daughter Patsy (Lincoln) and her late husband Gerald, his daughter Janice (Jurewich) and her husband Stanley, his sister Lorraine (Lightner), and his grandchildren, Lauren, Christopher, Hilary, Andrew, Courtney and Brent.
A Memorial Mass will be on Monday July 8, 2024 at 10 AM in St. Denis Church, 157 Washington Street, Westwood, MA. Interment will be private.
