Gary L. Pennini, age 66, of Norton, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Monday, June 24, 2024 at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston. He was the beloved husband of Cheryl A. (Wesson) Pennini, to whom he was wed for twelve years.
Born in Brockton, MA on June 22, 1958, he was a loving son of the late Paul L., Sr. and Marguerite F. (Meara) Pennini.
Gary grew up and was educated Whitman. He proudly served his country for four years as a member of the United States Air Force. He was honorably discharged from the service on November 16, 1979 with the rank of Sergeant.
A resident of Norton for the past twelve years, he had previously made his home in Clearwater, Florida. Prior to retiring, Gary had been employed for over five years as a licensed practical nurse at the VA Medical Center in Jamaica Plain. Following his retirement, he enjoyed creating things for others through his talent as a woodworker.
Gary’s family was the focal point of his life and the pleasure he received spending time with his granddaughters was truly second-to-none. A Jack of all trades, Gary enjoyed dabbling in automotive repair, anything where he could display his handyman skills and was also a former Karate Instructor.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his loving and devoted daughter Maria R. Marigliano of Norton and his cherished granddaughters, Ava, Kaitlyn and Emma. He was the dear brother of Paul Pennini, Jr. of California, Robert Pennini, who was his brother and best friend and his wife Linda of Hanson and the late Linda Pennini. He is also survived by his wife’s aunt Sis, whom he loved dearly, as well as his loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, July 2nd from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp Street (Off Route 140, Taunton Avenue) Norton.
His committal service, accompanied with military honors rendered by the United States Air Force will be held on Wednesday, July 3rd at 1:30 P.M. at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Avenue, Bourne.
Those attending the services on Wednesday are asked to please go directly to the National Cemetery and arrive by 1:20 P.M.
