Daniel J. Devine, age 42, a lifelong resident of Norton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at Wedgemere Healthcare in Taunton.
Born in Boston, MA on December 21, 1981, he was a loving son of Lorraine Tamara (McEachern) Devine of Norton and the late James M. Devine.
Danny grew up in town and was a 2000 graduate of Norton High School. He continued his studies, graduating with an associate’s degree from the Wentworth Institute of Technology.
Danny’s family always came first and his love for his sons was second to none. He was a member and served as a race director for Little T Racing in Thompson, CT, where his sons also raced weekly. He loved cooking and barbequing with his children, hanging out with friends, time spent outdoors, and will be fondly remembered as a super kind person to others and being there to help anyone in need, without ever being asked.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his devoted sons, Patrick C. Devine and Aidan T. Devine and their mother Kyla S. Drury. He was the dear brother of James F. Devine of Norton and the loving godfather of Owen Lewis of Mansfield. He is also survived by his much-loved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, June 30th from 3:00-6:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp Street (Off Route 140, Taunton Avenue) Norton
His funeral service will be held on Monday, July 1st at 11:00 A.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Newland Cemetery in Norton.
In lieu of flowers, Daniel’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Avenue, Boston, MA 02215.
