Obituary

CHICOPEE – Constance T. “Connie” (Messier) Pellissier, 93, a longtime resident of Gendreau Street in the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Monday, June 24, 2024. She passed into Eternal Life at Mission Care at Holyoke surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family and her wonderful caregivers. She was born in Springfield on March 15, 1931, a beloved daughter of the late, Eli A. and Rose C. (St. Martin) Messier. She was raised in Springfield and moved to Aldenville in 1961 where she lived for many years. Connie was the longtime secretary at Sainte Rose de Lima Parish and Cemetery and retired several years ago. She also taught elementary school at the former Saint George Elementary School in Chicopee Falls. Active in her Catholic Faith, she was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee and a member of the Ladies of Saint Anne Sodality of the church. She was also a member of the Third Order of the Dominican Laity in West Springfield. During her leisure time, Connie enjoyed crafting and attending bingo games. Most of all, she loved her family and her many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and soul mate, Paul F. Pellissier who was Called Home on May 26, 2006. They were married on September 8, 1951 at the former Saint Thomas Aquinas Church in Springfield and were blessed with over 54 years of happiness together. She was also predeceased by her loving son, Denis P. Pellissier who was Called Home on December 16, 2011. She leaves her loving daughter and best friend, Denise M. "Dee" Lindsey and her companion, Matthew Tocci, of Springfield; her five cherished grandchildren, Michelle Lindsey, Jennifer Niziankowicz and her husband, Michael, Michael Pellissier and his wife, Heather, Theresa Franco and her husband, Joao, and Matthew Pellissier; her seven cherished great-grandchildren, Evan and Aidan Niziankowicz, Madison Pellissier, Sylvia and Alexa Franco, and McKenzie and Zoey Pellissier; her dear brother-in-law, Deacon Bernard Pellissier and his wife, Muriel, of Monson; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended family members. Her funeral will be held on Saturday morning, June 29, 2024 beginning at the St. Pierre - Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8 a.m.) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 594 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday morning, June 29, 2024 from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. before the Mass. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family request s that memorial donations be made in her memory to Saint Joan of Arc School, 587 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
