Juan M. Alvarado Sr., 65, of Sandown, NH, passed away Monday, June 24, 2024, in Parkland Medical Center, Derry, NH. He was born on May 2, 1959, in Nicaragua, a son of Rigoberto Alvarado Lugo and Lourdes Arostegui Sierra. He lived most of his life in Riverside located in Southern California and moved a few years ago to the East Coast. Juan was an out-going, respectful, kind, and caring man who greeted everyone with a warm smile and outstretched hand. He leaves behind many special friends, old and new, including his beloved church family. He held three black belts in karate in the style of Okinawan Shuri-Ryu and co-owned a business called Beach Copy in California for about 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Ferrin Alvarado of Sandown; son, Juan Alvarado, Jr. of Gilbert, AZ; daughter, Stephanie Alvarado of Riverside, CA; four step-sons, David Ferrin of Derry, Jonathan Ferrin of Derry, Daniel Ferrin of Exeter, NH, and Christopher Ferrin of Manchester, NH; two brothers, Mario Alvarado of San Clemente, CA, and David Alvarado of Tustin, CA; three sisters, Ligia Stowell of Yorba Linda, CA, Sandra Cerny of Lake Elsinore, CA, and Sonia Luckey of Palm Desert, CA; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Martin Alvarado.
Calling hours will be held on Monday July 1, 2024, from 9:00am to 11:00am at Bridgeway Christian Church,148 Rockingham Road, Derry, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00AM. The burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry Rd., E. Derry.
