Patricia M. “Patty” O’Connor McCall, age 65, of Burlington, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on June 21, 2024. She was the beloved wife for 35 years of Michael McCall.
Born and raised in Chicago, IL, Patty was the daughter of the late Dr. William R. and Elizabeth J. (Duve) O’Connor. Patty was raised and educated in Chicago and was a graduate of Marillac High School in Northfield, IL. She then attended St. Mary-of-the-Woods College and received her master’s degree in education from the University of Virginia.
As a Speech-Language Pathologist, she worked at New England Rehabilitation Hospital for several years and then worked in private practice for the remainder of her career, concentrating in the care of cancer and stroke patients. In her spare time, Patty enjoyed knitting, quilting and always had a sewing project at hand. Her family fondly remembers her amazing cooking and baking skills and the cakes and cookies she made with love.
A musician at heart, she sang in the choir at St. Mary’s Church in Winchester for nearly 30 years. As a youngster she had played the flute and as an adult she tinkered with the piano.
In addition to her husband Michael, Patty is lovingly survived by her children: Robert F. McCall of Millis, Patrick M. McCall and his wife Patricia M. of Eugene, OR, and Elizabeth C. McCall of Woburn. She also leaves behind 6 siblings: the Honorable Kathleen Diesman and her husband Michael, Dr. Maureen O’Connor, Dr. Timothy O’Connor and his wife Karyn, Margaret O’Connor and her husband Wayne Hasz, Teresa O’Connor, Robert O’Connor and his wife Carol Maczka, and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for Visiting Hours at the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester, on Friday, June 28 from 5-8PM and again on Saturday, June 29 at 9AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10AM in St. Mary’s Church, 155 Washington St., Winchester at 10AM. Burial will follow in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
