Mrs. Lena C. (Charest) Zielinski, a longtime resident of Andover and beloved wife of Dennis Zielinski, passed away at the Lawrence General Hospital in Lawrence, Massachusetts, on Saturday, June 22, 2024. She was 84 years old.
Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, on January 18, 1940, she was the beloved daughter of the late Leo and Zereda (Marotte) Charest. Lena was employed in grocery, for many years. She enjoyed her jobs.
Lena loved having family cook-outs and also enjoyed volunteering with her daughter, Susan, making crafts for the St. Augustine Helping Hands program. She also enjoyed spending the holidays with her family and friends. Lena will be missed by all.
Besides her beloved husband, Dennis, Lena is survived by her loving children; Dennis, Jr. and his wife Dianne Zielinski of Haverhill, Daniel Zielinski of Kingston, New Hampshire, Susan Zielinski of Andover and James and his wife Bonnie Zielinski of Methuen, five grandchildren; Michelle, James Jr., Sarah, Amanda and Jessica, seven great-grandchildren. one great-great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. Lena is also survived by her lifelong best friend; Theresa Faucher of Methuen. She is also the sister of the late Regina, Edna and Albert Charest.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex Street, Andover on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Noon. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Visitation will be held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover on Wednesday, prior to the mass, from 10 to 11:30 AM. Interment will be held in the St. Augustine Cemetery in Andover. Donations in Lena's memory may be made to St Augustine's Church, 43 Essex Street, Andover, MA 01810.
