We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved John J. Holohan “Johnny”, 69, of West Roxbury, formerly Waterford, Ireland. Johnny died peacefully on June 22, 2024 in his home surrounded by the love of his American “family.”
Johnny was a Master Glassblower for Waterford Crystal for 25 years, a painter and construction worker, who loved his work, sports and trips to Aruba.
His quiet, deep presence, hospitable nature and great sense of humor will be dearly missed by all. A man’s man, with a passion for Irish history and music, who fought tirelessly in support of Prisoners Rights in Northern Ireland.
Johnny was predeceased by his parents Edward and Mary Holohan, and his sister Mary Holohan of Waterford Ireland.
John will be deeply missed all those who had the privilege to love and know him.

Visiting hours at the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St. West Roxbury on Monday, June 24th from 4-7pm. Funeral from the funeral home on Tuesday, June 5th at 9:00am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Theresa Church, 2078 Centre St West Roxbury at 10:00am. Johnny’s ashes will be repatriated to Ireland and buried in the family plot.
