Obituary

Kathryn B. “Kathy” (Malone) Perry, a resident of Stoneham and formerly of Charlestown and Somerville, entered into eternal life on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was 84 years of age. Kathy has lived a life gracefully and with courage while battling a day-to-day disease with Type 1 Diabetes for 71 years.

Kathy was born in Boston on January 28, 1940, a daughter of the late John Malone and Catherine (Madden) Malone. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated at St. Francis De Sales Parochial School and graduated from Matignon High School in Cambridge. She furthered her education and attended Boston State College for 2 years. Kathy was a 30+ year employee of the Federal Government (Department of Defense and Government Services Administration). At retirement, she was a Realty Specialist at Government Services Administration, handling federal and government leased properties throughout the six New England states. Kathy loved traveling for work and fun both domestically and overseas, meeting new people and having fun with friends and family. She was also a devoted lifelong Roman Catholic. Kathy was a consistent donor to Rosie’s Place, Boys Town, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She was a member of the Daughter's of Isabella # 1 and The Old Charlestown Schoolgirl’s Association.

Kathy is the beloved mother of Karen Bazzinotti and her husband Robert of Stoneham, and Frederick Perry Jr of Ellsworth, Maine. She is the loving Nana to Anthony J. Bazzinotti. She is the sister of Ellen Casey, John Malone Jr, and Michael Malone.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Kathy’s Funeral on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 A.M. in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. Her burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. Her visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, from 3 P.M. to 6 P.M. in the funeral home.
