David M. Craven, Sr., age 71, a lifelong resident of Winchester, passed away on June 19, 2024. He was the beloved husband for 24 years of the late Gail A. (Rogers) Craven until her passing in 2012.
Born and raised in Winchester, he was the son of the late Charles and Mary (Hynes)Craven. He graduated from Berwick Academy and Lehigh University. A dedicated father, he was active and interested in his children’s lives and could always be found coaching their baseball and softball teams. He also enjoyed freshwater fishing. For many years, David was an active member in both the Knights of Columbus and the Elks Clubs in Winchester.
He is lovingly survived by his children: David M. Craven, Jr. of Biddeford, ME, Katherine M. Craven of Tewksbury, and Sarah M. Craven, of Auburn, ME. He was the dear brother of the late Charles Craven, Jr. and the late Ellen Oberg. He also leaves behind his loving girlfriend Gail Kolinsky and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for Visiting Hours at Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester on Thursday, June 27 from 4-7 PM and again on Friday, June 28 at 9:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, 155 Washington St. Winchester, at 10:00AM. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester.
