Worcester: Edwey "Leroy" Maynard, 79, passed away peacefully on Saturday June 15, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family. He leaves his beautiful wife of 53 years Marvalene (Roberts) Maynard; 2 daughters Rene Maynard; her husband Corey; Sharon Roberts; his 3 sons Junior Roberts; his wife Jemima; Colis Roberts ; his wife Angela; Delson Roberts and he was preceded in death by his son Orlando Roberts. His niece Myrna, nephew Rudolph and his brother Leon. His two sister in laws Myrna and Thelma. 10 Grandchildren: Shaniqua, Ian, Kyeasia, Devon, Kiauna, Natalia, Jevorn, Jeramaine, Gabrielle, Kareem and 2 great grandchildren: Valentino and Damian.
Edwey was born in Speightstown, Barbados, son of the late Fitzgerald and Claudine Maynard. After graduating High School he worked as a truck driver for numerous years in Bridgetown Barbados. He then moved to Worcester in 1994 and continued his career as a truck driver an package handler for UPS. Retiring at age 65 . The family man he was he took immense pleasure in helping his children,grandchildren and others . He was big on family values, and respect. He loved traveling, listeing to music as he was a skilled guitar player. He was an avid church goer who was dedicated to his religion as a Jehovah witness. His cheerful attitude and bright smile will be missed.
A celebration of life will be held at on Saturday, June 22, 2024 from 10 a.m.- 12:00 noon in Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln Street Worcester, MA 01605.
