Kathleen M. (Eid) Siebrands, 78, of Medway, died Thursday, June 20, 2024 at Newton Wellesley Hospital.
Born in Volga, South Dakota on April 20, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Arnold and Lillian (Dahl) Eid. Kathleen grew up in Arlington, South Dakota and graduated from Arlington High School in 1964. She had one older sister named Sandra (Eid) Almlie.
Kathleen was a resident of Medway, Massachusetts since 1999 and formerly resided in Greeley, Colorado, Abilene, Kansas and Hutchinson, Kansas.
She attended two years at Augustana College and later earned her Bachelor’s Degree in 1977 from Mary Mount College of Kansas in Salina and her Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado in 1994.
Kathleen worked in several venues of human services for many years focusing her work on serving people with disabilities, especially head injuries and mental illness. She later founded Abilene Hospice in Abilene, Kansas.
Kathleen was a member of the Medway Community Church, was an avid reader and true lover of music. Her greatest joy were her grandchildren.
She is survived by three children, Karla Garvin and her husband Drew of Medway, her son Kelly Siebrands and his wife Jyl of Fort Morgan, Colorado and Erin Pereira of Framingham.
She is also survived by six grandchildren, Jake and Cooper Garvin, Lexys and Presley Siebrands, and Olivia and Madison Pereira.
She was the sister of the late Sandra Almlie.
Graveside services will take place privately at Lake Grove Cemetery in Holliston.
