SPRINGFIELD - Marlene C. (Montesi) Nashville, 87, of the Hungry Hill section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Friday, June 21, 2024. She passed into Eternal Life at CareOne at Redstone in East Longmeadow surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Springfield on May 20, 1937, a beloved daughter of the late Fred and Albina (Serra) Montesi. She was raised in Springfield, graduated from the High School of Commerce, and was a lifelong resident of the city. She was a Paraprofessional for the Public School Department in the City of Springfield for over 20 years. She was a member of the Hungry Hill Golden Age Club and the Mount Carmel Italian Club. Marlene volunteered for many years as a Poll Worker for the City of Springfield. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a longtime communicant of the former Our Lady of Hope Church, both in Springfield. She enjoyed summering at the beaches of South Dennis on Cape Cod and loved to spend time with her family and many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and soulmate, Donald A. Nashville who was Called Home on March 3, 2016. They were married on June 15, 1957 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Springfield and they were blessed with over 58 years of happiness together. She leaves her two loving children, Jeffrey D. Nashville and his wife, Michele, of Dennis Port, and Christine M. Russo and her husband, Rino, of Ludlow; her four cherished grandchildren, Michelina Oliver and her husband, Wesley, Christopher Nashville and his wife, Kristin, Aniel Russo and his wife, Pegah, and Alyssa Cormier and her husband, Greg; her two cherished great grandchildren, Zoe Nashville and Noah Brooks Cormier; her dear brother, Fred Montesi of Feeding Hills; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107, (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.), followed by a Prayer Service at 11 a.m. in the Funeral Home. Her burial will follow the service at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 421 Tinkham Road, Springfield, MA 01129. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. before the service.
