George Timothy “Tim” Young, 61, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in Tallahassee, Florida.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Sunday, June 23, 2024, at Eastside Holiness Baptist Church in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Rob Merritt and the Rev. Gene Chaney officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, in Fitzgerald, Georgia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Young was born January 11, 1963, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late Claude Vinson & Mattie Marian Mathis Young. He loved music and was an accomplished self-taught musician. He was a member of Mercy Road Band of Fitzgerald, Georgia, and a member of Eastside Holiness Baptist Church. Mr. Young was an office manager for Standard Discount Company.
He is survived by his siblings: Larry & Janet Young of Fitzgerald and Judy & Randall Croy of Moultrie; nieces and nephews: Jennifer & Ben Culpepper, Chris Young and Jamie Croy; great-nieces and great-nephews: Emily Culpepper, Joel Culpepper, Hartley Croy and Brooks Croy and two aunts: Jackie Shelton of Jacksonville, Florida and Brenda Cromartie of Ocilla.
