Obituary

Karen Anne Stehle was born in Portland, Oregon in 1950 and passed away on June 12, 2024, in Ventura, CA at the age of 73.
Karen grew up in Oxnard, CA and graduated from Rio Mesa High School in 1968. After high school, her first job was at Ticor/Continental Title, and she worked there for the next 17 years. Wanting summers off to spend with her kids, she then was an attendance clerk for Ventura and Buena High School for the next 15 years before retiring. While at Ventura and Buena High, she was instrumental and touched the lives of many students and faculty on a daily basis.
Throughout her life, Karen was passionate about a variety of things. From her family to her friends, she was always admired by everyone who met and spent time with her. Karen’s family was her greatest joy and accomplishment. She was always involved in her kids lives while growing up, whether it be in their school or sporting life. Later in life, her greatest joy turned to being a grandma. She loved attending her grandkids school functions and sporting events; her favorite thing to do with them were taking them on trips and teaching them how to paint and bake.
Karen had a surplus of hobbies throughout her life, including being an expert floral painter, where she painted 100’s of original designs that she sold and gave to friends. As good as her paintings were, she was an even better baker in the kitchen. From creating and decorating wedding cakes, to making desserts that would be gone in an instant, she was always baking for friends and family. She also loved traveling with her family and friends -- from her annual trips to Las Vegas with her friends when she was younger, to traveling with her family as they were growing up. A few of her most favorite trips with her family were going to Alaska, Hawaii, Mexico, and Bulgaria. She also loved camping each summer at Lake San Antonio and spending time traveling throughout the US.
Karen will be greatly missed, and she now joins her husband Mike of 50 years, her parents Aileen Molthu and David Low, and her father and mother-in-law Robert and Mary Stehle. She is survived by her sons Christopher Stehle (Jennifer), grandchildren Allison and Turner. As well as her son Mark Stehle (Nicole), grandchildren Madelyn, Tristan and Aubrey. Her brother Mike Molthu (Norma) and sister Debi Slusser, sister-in-law Sue Stinson (James), brother-in-law Bob (Mary Ann) and brother-in-law Carl Stehle as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family has entrusted her care to the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, Ventura.
