DUDLEY – Maria (Piwowarczyk) Sudyka, 80, died Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Harrington Healthcare at Hubbard after being stricken ill. Her husband, Wlodzimierz Sudyka, died in 2014.
She leaves 5 children, Wieslaw Sudyka and his wife Eva, Wojciech Sudyka and his wife Margorzata, Jan Sudyka and his wife Margorzata, and Renata Sudyka and her husband Tadeusz, all of Dudley, and Agnieszka Parzych and her husband Maciej of New York; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; a brother, Franciszek Piwowarczyk and his wife Maria of Webster; a sister-in-law, Maria Piwowarczyk of Webster; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Stanislawa Dumicz and her husband Boleslaw of Queens, NY, by her brothers Jan and Frederick Piwowarczyk of Poland, and by Jozef Piwowarczyk of Webster.
She was born on December 23, 1943 in Skalnik, Poland, a daughter of Wojciech and Franciszka (Nadymus) Piwowarczyk. She emigrated to Brooklyn, NY in 1990 and moved to this area in 2014.
In Poland, she worked on a farm. In the US, she cleaned apartments, retiring in 2005.
She was a communicant of Saint Joseph Basilica. She loved cooking, gardening, sewing and taking care of her house.
Her funeral will be held Saturday, June 22, from the Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street, Webster. Burial will be in St. Joseph Garden of Peace. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Friday, June 21, in the funeral home.
