Roy Benjamin Johnson, 70, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away Saturday, November 2, 2002, at Albany Health Care. A memorial service was held for Mr. Johnson at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 10, 2002, at Mount Calvary United Methodist Church in Tifton with Judy White officiating. Mr. Johnson was laid to rest at a later date.
Born September 14, 1932, in Hancock County, Mr. Johnson was the son of the late Eddie Dewey Johnson, Sr. and Thelma Mae Hadden Johnson. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Charles F. Johnson. He was a retired engineer in the paving business; and he had lived in Jacksonville, Florida most of his life.
Mr. Johnson is survived by two daughters, Marsha Freeman of Tifton and Nanette Jones of Sandersville; three brothers, Tommy Johnson and Billy Johnson, both of Tifton and Eddie Dewey Johnson, Jr. of Niland, California; one sister, Bett E. Drews of Freemont, Nebraska; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
